About Countryside Stretch Tents

Countryside Stretch Tents is based near Topcliffe, a village on the River Swale in North Yorkshire with a population of around 1,500 people. The business was founded by entrepreneurs David and Sally Mallender, and like many good ideas it came about from trying to find something that seemingly didn’t exist. In their case it was when they were looking for the perfect marquee for their wedding back in 2012.

At first David and Sally wanted to hire a marquee, but after much searching up and down the country for the perfect structure they found that it was almost as cost-effective to buy, and then sell it on later. Soon after their wedding marquee had been taken down (that’s known as striking in the industry) one or two of their guests from their big day inquired about renting it; so it didn’t get immediately sold but hired out, and that was when Countryside was founded.

From that one marquee – which by David’s own admission wasn’t the best available – the business expanded and eventually began to focus more on stretch tents.
It is now one of the leading suppliers of stretch tents for hire or to buy in Britain; with a customer base stretching beyond the UK, and ranging from the private individual to corporate clients. The company also offers management services and installation training – and all come with Countryside’s “can do attitude”.
